Commercial service

A barrel hall is not an ordinary comfort-air-conditioning application.

Product objectives, room volume, building fabric, door openings, occupancy, lighting, process heat and local climate all influence the required system. Temperature stability may matter more than a simple thermostat setpoint.

Beer Works can coordinate refrigeration, HVAC, glycol and electrical capability through one commercial group. The system is scoped around the actual production and storage requirement rather than a generic room-size allowance.

Service scope

  • Site load and operating-requirement assessment
  • Temperature-control and HVAC options
  • Ventilation, air distribution and plant-location review
  • Humidity and condensation risk consideration
  • Integration with brewery glycol and refrigeration plant
  • Controls, monitoring and alarm requirements
  • Planned maintenance and replacement strategy

The required environmental conditions must be nominated by the brewery or its process adviser. We then design or assess plant against those operating targets.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about barrel hall cooling

What temperature should a brewery barrel hall operate at?

That is a production decision for the brewery and depends on product, process and storage objectives. The mechanical system should be designed against the brewery's nominated operating range and acceptable variation.

Is barrel hall cooling the same as air conditioning?

Not necessarily. Comfort cooling may not provide the required temperature range, stability, moisture control, operating hours or resilience. The application should be assessed as a commercial production environment.

Can existing brewery cooling plant be reused?

Possibly. Available capacity, operating temperatures, distribution, redundancy and condition must be checked before connecting additional loads.

Can Beer Works coordinate HVAC, refrigeration and electrical work?

Yes. Beer Works operates within HVACR Pty Ltd, allowing brewery cooling, refrigeration, HVAC, glycol and electrical work to be coordinated through one group.
