Project planning

Start with operating requirements before selecting equipment.

The right commercial beer-system scope depends on product count, peak throughput, bar locations, keg storage, distance and elevation, available refrigeration plant, gas requirements and the venue's maintenance expectations.

Equipment should be selected after those requirements are understood. Starting with a particular chiller, font or package can force compromises into the rest of the system and make later expansion difficult.

Project inputs

  • Floor plans and bar layouts
  • Tap count and product schedule
  • Keg-room location and capacity
  • Expected peak service volume
  • Builder program and opening date
  • Electrical, refrigeration and access constraints

Delivery sequence

Design → coordinate → install → commission → hand over.

Commercial control

Allow for maintenance and future changes.

Venues change product ranges, add taps and alter bar layouts. A well-planned system leaves sensible access, capacity and documentation so later changes do not require unnecessary demolition or complete replacement.

Beer Works can coordinate related refrigeration and electrical work within the HVACR group where that produces a cleaner project interface.

Handover should include

  • Equipment and model details
  • Relevant settings and commissioning readings
  • Cleaning and maintenance requirements
  • Isolation and operating instructions
  • Known future capacity constraints

Frequently asked questions

Project questions

When should the beer-system contractor be involved?

Early in design. Keg-room location, bar layout, service routes, refrigeration and electrical requirements can affect the builder and joinery scope.

Can Beer Works work with builders and venue designers?

Yes. We can coordinate the beer-system scope with the broader fit-out and identify required interfaces.

Do you commission the finished system?

Yes. A commercial installation should be tested and adjusted as an operating system rather than handed over after components are merely connected.
